Advocate Alpana Bhandari, one of Nepal’s best arbitration Lawyers , had an impressive journey to get to where she is today. Hailing from Biratnagar in the Morang District, my early life was a blend of governmental service and entrepreneurial spirit within my family. This eclectic mix fostered my independence and curiosity, particularly in corporate matters.
I pursued my foundational education in Dehradun, India, until the 10th grade. As a child, my keen observation skills and an insatiable appetite for learning helped me appreciate diverse perspectives. These qualities, along with my integrity and compassion, have been my guiding strengths. My academic journey continued at the Lincoln School in Kathmandu for grades 11 and 12. Here, I was exposed to a variety of business insights and life philosophies, which cultivated my respect for multicultural viewpoints.
This was followed by my undergraduate studies at the Kathmandu School of Law. Further enriching my education, I undertook pre-law studies at Bilgi University in Istanbul, Turkey, and later obtained an LL.M in International Legal Studies from the American University Washington College of Law in Washington, DC.
My decade-plus experience in the United States refined my interest in Modern and Alternative Dispute Resolution. Currently, I am a Lifetime Member of the Nepal Council of Arbitration “NEPCA” and serve as a leading Arbitration Lawyer in Nepal.
