Acquiring Nepali Citizenship by Descent for a Child of a Nepali Citizen Woman (Unknown Father)

How to get Nepali citizen whose father is unknown

For a Nepali Citizen Woman’s Child (if the father’s whereabouts are unknown or cannot
be determined):

  1. Submit an application with a recommendation letter from the relevant ward office
    of the municipality.
  2. Provide the mother’s Nepali citizenship certificate and, if applicable, the death
    certificate.
  3. Include the applicant’s birth certificate and education certificate.
  4. Present a proven relationship certificate between the mother and child, with a
    photo within the certificate.
  5. Furnish an immigration certificate for those who have relocated to the area, and if
    applicable, the permanent resident house owner’s Lalpurja or at least a
    recommendation letter for permanent residence.
  6. Include the mother’s marriage registration certificate, along with other documents
    detailing family members.
  7. Make a self-declaration affirming Nepali origin and that the father is a Nepali
    citizen.
  8. Obtain a form from the relevant ward-level office.
  9. Provide documents from the police’s on-site investigation report and any
    additional required documents.
    For a Nepali Citizen Woman’s Child Married to a Foreign National Man:
  10. Submit an application with a recommendation letter from the ward office of the
    municipality.
  11. Include the mother’s Nepali citizenship certificate and, if applicable, the death
    certificate.
  12. Attach the applicant’s birth certificate and education certificate.
  13. Present a proven relationship certificate between the mother and child, with a
    photo within the certificate.
  14. Furnish an immigration certificate for those who have relocated to the area, and if
    applicable, the permanent resident house owner’s Lalpurja or at least a
    recommendation letter for permanent residence.
  15. Include the mother’s marriage registration certificate, along with other documents
    detailing family members.
  16. Make a self-declaration according to schedule 7 (a).
  17. Obtain a form from the related ward-level office.
  18. Provide documents from the police’s on-site investigation report and any
    additional required documents.
  19. Following the application’s receipt, the Chief District Officer may consult with the
    relevant chief of the metropolitan city or municipality if deemed necessary.
